A look back: Long Night of Science 2025
Knowledge. From here. - An evening full of research, fascination and hands-on moments
In perfect summer weather, scientific institutions from all over Magdeburg presented themselves on 14 June 2025 under the motto "Knowledge. From. Here" at the Long Night of Science. Magdeburg University Medicine was also there and invited visitors to discover and take part in over 40 varied programme items.
The programme ranged from live medical demonstrations and interactive activities for children to innovative medical technology: whether it was exciting insights into emergency care, a look behind the scenes of the operating theatre or fascinating applications of 3D printing - there was something for every age and interest. Even topics such as gender-sensitive medicine were made tangible, for example through heart measurements carried out on female visitors on site. Another special highlight was the appearance of world memory champion Dr Johannes Mallow, who impressively demonstrated with an interactive challenge how powerful our brain can be - and how it can be trained.

The evening was characterised by curious questions, lively discussions and an all-round positive atmosphere. Numerous visitors, both young and old, took the opportunity to talk to our experts and take a look behind the scenes of medical research and practice.
Wir sagen herzlich Danke an alle, die dabei waren – und freuen uns schon jetzt auf ein Wiedersehen bei der nächsten Langen Nacht der Wissenschaft!
